BE PATIENT! Ni de qing tian is such a perfect surprise that the whole world and the heavens are in cahoots and taking a little too long to give it to you.

why help those that want no help

Faith said...

its not a matter of who WANTS help but who NEEDS help.

you did not read what i said. who are you to determine who needs it, as if you were something greater. how can you help those that want no help

what i mean is, i would try to do what is 'right'. because while the immediate or future implications of your actions might be beyond your control, your intentions are always within your power- if you meant to help, not as if you were on a pedestal but because you genuinely love, then i believe you do no injustice to anyone, whatever happens. if a girl drops her doll, do you help her to pick it up? or do you have to wait for her to verbally tell you she wants no help and then leave? i would think that the natural reaction (or my raction) would be spontaneously instinctive. i would reach down and pick the doll up. you help, because you just naturally do. you help anyway, because sometimes, sometimes, we all need a hand but just don't know it.

thats a poor analogy because there is no ambiguity of moral response to arise from that situation. there is no weight within that girl which would announce "i do not want your help" it is something completely different than what is happening here. how of the girl who threw her doll to the ground? maybe you do not know how the doll ends up on the ground. how do you assume then what is best for someone.

but arent you also assuming that the person wants no help? how do you gauge when help is needed or not? what if the person wants help but insists on telling others that no help is wanted? do we then deny that person? how can you ever, ever tell? people are contradictory and everything is ambiguous. because of that, do you either you help everyone, or no one at all? what do you do? its tough and you can't know what is best, so you do what you think you should.

its a pity you choose to remain nameless. why is that? i find it hard to believe what you say in such a situation. it is as if you need this namelessness to give yourself the freedom of speech. but if you need such secrecy in order to say what you say, it undeniably causes me to question the faith (pardon the pun) you have behind your own beliefs and how willing you are to stand for them.

You know something? Actually i don't want to know who you are, so its fine that you do remain anonymous. I dont wanna have any preconceived notions of you just as i am now trying hard to not form any conceived notions of who you are or what type of person you are.

And frankly, we could both be right and/or wrong. I stand by what i say and im certain you do so too. So i'm not going to continue this 'debate' with you any further.

My concern, to begin with, is that, if you so strongly hold such philosophical values, and talk about "how do you assume then what is best for someone", then how can you carelessly tell my wonderful friend here, "why help those that want no help"? It seems as though you yourself "assume" things about her, something which would conflict with your words. But then again, maybe I am doing some assumptions here myself. Lol. Did she say she wanted help? Did she say she didn't want help? I wanted to know what your purpose in writing something like that was but suddenly it doesn't matter any more because she doesn't need 'this', this thing we are doing, and neither do we.

So have a nice day. Goodbye.
